Espressif, perusahaan asal Shanghai, China; yang memproduksi ESP8266 dan ESP32, mengumumkan lini produk terbaru mereka dalam keluarga ESP32, yaitu ESP32-S2 Secure WiFi MCU. MCU low-power ini mendukung WiFi-HT40 dan memiliki 43 GPIO. Berbasiskan prosesor Xtensa single-core 32-bit LX7. ESP32-S2 dapat “dipacu” hingga 240MHz.
Espressif mengklaim teknologi terbaru mereka pada pengelolaan / konsumsi daya dan peningkatan yang signifikan pada performa RF (Radio Frequency), kemampuan IO dan sederet fitur – fitur terkait keamanan, menjadikan ESP32-S2 pilihan yang ideal untuk digunakan pada berbagai aplikasi IoT, seperti smart-home dan wearable. Kemudian dengan dukungan dari prosesor Xtensa yang memiliki clock hingga 240 MHz, pengembang aplikasi juga tidak membutuhkan MCU external.
